Captain Nick earned his bachelor’s degree in International Business from Florida International University and began his professional career working as a contractor aboard cruise ships, where he had the opportunity to travel extensively and experience the world by sea. Those experiences solidified his passion for life on the water and inspired him to pursue a career centered around boating and sharing that lifestyle with others.
Raised in South Florida, Captain Nick has been boating since his teenage years and brings 26 years of hands-on boating experience to every lesson. Over the years, he has helped family and friends learn how to boat confidently and safely throughout South Florida’s waterways, an experience that ultimately led him to formalize his passion into a business.
In 2023, Captain Nick founded Miami Boating Lessons. He holds a USCG 25-Ton Master license with over 3 years of licensure, combining professional credentials with decades of real-world experience. He holds First Aid/CPR and PADI certifications, reflecting his strong emphasis on safety, situational awareness, and confident decision-making on the water.
Captain Nick has extensive operating experience on single and twin outboard center consoles as well as motor yachts ranging from 40–60 feet, allowing him to tailor instruction to a wide range of vessels and skill levels. His deep local knowledge includes Miami, Biscayne Bay, the Intracoastal Waterway, the Florida Keys, and the Bahamas.
He believes South Florida is one of the most unique boating destinations in the world, offering year-round boating weather, beautiful waters, and an unmatched on-the-water lifestyle.
As both an instructor and business owner, Captain Nick is passionate about helping boaters build confidence, master essential skills, and enjoy the water safely, whether they are brand new to boating or looking to refine their abilities for everyday use or longer adventures.
