Captain GC
Instructor
Captain GC holds a USCG 100-Ton Master license with a lifetime of experience on the water. Born and raised in South Florida, he has been boating since the age of 10 and began working professionally as a mate at just 15 years old. He has held his USCG captain’s license for 6 years, backed by deep, real-world experience gained over many seasons on the water.
Captain GC’s primary operating experience is on twin-engine center consoles and motor yachts, with extensive time running vessels in the 50–80 foot range. His background allows him to comfortably train boaters on both performance-oriented handling and larger yacht operations.
In addition to his captain’s license, Captain GC holds First Aid/CPR certification, a Towing Endorsement, and a Marine Radio Operator Permit (MROP), reinforcing his strong focus on safety and professional seamanship.
With expert local knowledge of Miami, Biscayne Bay, the Intracoastal Waterway, the Florida Keys, and the Bahamas, as well as experience operating in Montauk and Sag Harbor, Captain GC brings a broad coastal perspective to every lesson. He believes South Florida is one of the best boating destinations in the world thanks to its year-round boating weather, diverse waterways, and endless opportunities to get on the water.
Captain GC is passionate about helping students build confidence, develop proper boat handling skills, and enjoy boating safely, whether they’re new to the helm or looking to sharpen advanced techniques.
Captain GC is fluent in English and Spanish
